  • Dr. Amarender Singh Puri is a Vice Chairman of the Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta Gurugram.
  • Dr. Puri graduated from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana with an MBBS and an MD (Internal Medicine). After that, he worked for two years as a Lecturer in Medicine at CMC, Ludhiana (Panjab University) before joining DM (Gastroenterology).
  • Dr. Puri joined GB Pant Hospital in Delhi as an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology in 1992 after earning his DM (Gastroenterology) from SGPGI, Lucknow.
  • He quickly advanced to the position of Professor and Head of the Medical Gastroenterology Department and remained there for more than 20 years before joining Medanta.
  • Numerous awards have been given to Dr. Puri, including the Times Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service in 2014.
