Dr. Ashok Rajgopal

As the Group Chairman at Medanta the Medicity, Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is one of India's most renowned and accomplished orthopaedic surgeons.
He has a remarkable record of finishing 25,000 total knee replacement procedures with a valued experience of more than 32 years.
The President of India's honorary surgeon was Dr. Rajgopal.
Knee surgery, Joint replacement surgery, Arthroscopic surgery, and Arthroplastic surgery are some of his areas of expertise.
He has treated several well-known athletes, like Pullela Gopichand, because he was an expert in sports medicine (badminton player suffered a career threatening knee injury while playing doubles at the 1994 National Games at Pune).
In 1983, he earned his MCh from the University of Liverpool in addition to his MBBS from the AFMC and MS from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
In 2010, Dr. Ashok earned his FRCS in general surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.
He is also the first orthopaedic surgeon in India to do MIS Unicompartmental surgery and bilateral total knee replacement surgery.
Additionally, Dr. Rajgopal was the first to use patient-specific instruments to do a total knee replacement.
He is famous for finishing 28 knee replacement procedures in less than 12 hours.
He is a designer surgeon and a member of the design team that created and developed The Persona Knee, the most recent knee implant.
