Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Tanboğa, M.D. is a leading Cardiologist, offering more than 20 years of expertise in advanced cardiac diagnostics, interventional cardiology, and structural heart disease management.

Areas of Expertise

Prof. Dr. Tanboğa provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional cardiology services, with clinical interests including:

• Coronary artery disease diagnosis using IVUS, FFR, and OCT; treatment with stents and balloon angioplasty
• Valve disease treatments, including Mitral Balloon Valvuloplasty and TAVI
• Arrhythmia diagnosis and management via electrophysiological study (EPS) and catheter ablation
• Implantation of cardiac pacemakers, ICD, and CRT devices
• Peripheral artery disease interventions
• Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)

Professional Experience

Prof. Dr. Tanboğa has built a distinguished career across major cardiology institutions in Turkey and abroad. He completed his cardiology residency at Kartal Koşuyolu Training and Research Hospital (2005–2009) and went on to serve as a cardiology specialist at Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital (2009–2011) and Adana Numune Training and Research Hospital (2011–2012).

He later joined Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine, where he held faculty positions between 2012–2013 and 2013–2016, progressing through the ranks of Assistant and Associate Professor. In 2014, he received advanced training in heart valve therapy at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, UK, further enhancing his expertise in structural heart disease.

Prof. Dr. Tanboğa has been serving as a Professor at Nişantaşı University since 2018 and currently provides patient care at the Hisar Hospital Intercontinental Cardiology Department.
