Prof. Dr. Cemil Bilir is an accomplished professor of medical oncology with a strong foundation in internal medicine and cancer therapeutics. He is actively involved in clinical oncology practice, medical education, and advanced research. His career spans leading universities in Turkey as well as international training and research experience in the United States, where he contributed to oncology and pharmaceutical biotechnology projects.

Education
Prof. Dr. Bilir completed his medical degree at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (1998–2004), followed by a specialization in Internal Medicine at Düzce University (2005–2009). He then advanced his training with a Medical Oncology specialization at Bülent Ecevit University (2010–2013).
He continued his academic career at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (2013–2015), earning the title of Associate Professor in 2015. From 2015 to 2021, he served as a faculty member in Medical Oncology at Sakarya University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a Full Professor in 2020.
In 2020, he further broadened his scientific expertise by beginning a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at Sakarya University, demonstrating his commitment to interdisciplinary and translational cancer research.
Professional Experience
Prof. Dr. Bilir has held significant roles in internal medicine and medical oncology within both state and university hospitals in Turkey. His early career included service at Beytüşşebap State Hospital (2009–2010) in Internal Medicine, after which he continued his work in university-based oncology centers, contributing extensively to clinical care and resident training.
Internationally, he completed a clinical rotation at the Cleveland Clinic (USA) in Rheumatology–Gastroenterology in 2008. He later gained research experience at Northeastern University’s Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine (Boston, USA) from 2016 to 2017, where he participated in projects related to advanced therapeutics and nanomedicine.
He has authored and contributed to numerous scientific publications in oncology and related fields and remains dedicated to advancing cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research.
